At a church fete in Chester today, I paid 50p for an old vinyl thing called 'What Passing Bell'. It's a collection of First World War poetry and prose read by several well-known figures, from 1964 (50th anniversary of the outbreak). The usual stuff (Sassoon, Haig, Owen etc), but what actually drew my attention was the name of one of the speakers; Michael Hordern was the voice of the original TV series of PAddington Bear! Splendid.

I also got a nice 10" LP of Sibelius' Violin Concerto in D Minor (year not stated), by David Oistrakh and the Stockholm Festival Orchestra.
