It occurs to me that even if Fugazi had sold 1 million records, they probably wouldn't have accepted given two shits about certification. I highly doubt Ian Mackaye would have done anything with a platinum record other than huck it into the trash.
Still, maybe I will send an email. I can't stop thinking about it and that's only partially because of my clinical OCD.
