Yes, but TV on The Radio have the angle of being black and playing indie rock, which is to say, that while racism is largely deemed extremely unfashionable in the indie rock community, this trend is not reflected in the record collection or listening habits of an indie rock listener who will most likely have less than 3 records made by black people in their collection, so to quell their anxiety as to whether they are really a racist in denial, the indie rocker buys a record made by TV on The Radio that a) allows them to imagine themselves as appreciating cultural & ethnic diversity but b) doesn't really stray too far into the scary territory of the non-white.
