this actually took a few watches for me to give it that rating. I just.. think the book was MUCH better. Ballard did a great job at making the characters almost identical to the vehicles they were sexually infatuated with. Still one of the better cronenberg films I've seen.

oh fuck this movie is great. never read the book though. is the thing about dogs looking like their masters important? i think it's an old joke that needn't replay on the screen so trust cronenberg to use a book but not recreate it if it doesn't work on screen.
