Yeah... the problem is that if you simply don't enjoy Hendrix you're in the position of agreeing that he's clearly massively talented whilst also forced to put him in the same box as Vai, Malmsteen et all. I'd wager Hendrix couldn't touch the subte tones of any of Segovia's renditions of Bach's Chaconne for solo violin, even if he could read.
