Oh, man, that's brutal, I'm so sorry. The loss I'm dealing with now is not
that close... but very close nonetheless. Adding to the "process", as they call it nowadays, is the fact that I hadn't seen most of my family in two decades, and all of a sudden I'm struggling to recognize some of them (never been good with faces anyway, it's true) and meeting nephews that weren't even alive back when I distanced myself from everybody.
