Sure, skepticism is warrented in this case, but it sounds better than you might think. The key is the FiRe 2 app, developed by Audiophile Engineering (
http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/fire/), pointed out to me by hipster_bebop_junkie. I tried to record and post some shows before I got the app and they are unlistenable. With the app, it's not as good as a good recorder, but damn good for what it is. Other folks around here seemed to like my Lee Ranaldo recording last spring....

Can't swing a better recorder or microphones right now, need more cash flow for such items, but making do with what I have and getting results as good as this has been making me pretty happy lately.
