Dude, seriously. Skateboarding has evolved to something so insanely athletic, something so aeronautically spetacular, something to technically precise, and something so visually impressive that is NEEDS to be in the Olympics. I think it would simply BLOW peoples' minds to see what kids can do today with a Skateboard, its not exactly what it used to be.

I don;t consider it an authentic competitive sport. skating is about feel, and attitude, and style, and that is more of an arts competition, not an athletic competition. I don't think ballroom dancing, for all it's athleticism, is a sport either. Just because competitions are held does not make it a sport.
There has to be a real quantifiable measure of competition. This is why I think events that are judged by a panel should not be in the Olympics. That includes diving, gymnastics, and ice skating. The corruption is rampant, and there is no verifiable way to tell who won or who lost.
In high jump, whoever jumps highest wins. In discus, whoevere throws farthest wins. In wrestling, whoevere pins the other one first wins. in racing, whoever finishes first wins. These are quantifiable measures. while I love to see good diving, and good gymnastics, I find the model for competition very lacking. the same is true for skating events, except maybe for the "biggest air" competition.
skateboarding competitions are, and you know this, fake events designed to promote the culture and sell product.
