according to our gods, this is the way it should be played
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8mCTThOE7A
after watching 3 different "cover" videos with all sorts of crazy tuning
how come i figured it out in standard tuning with a drop D
so how do i play then
use you typical D chord pattern but dont use the high E string
=============================
i use this as the intro on the G & B string
6&7 / 4&5 / 4&3 / 2&3 (repeat until virtigo)
=============================
the C# break down part (bar cord)
=============================
open D A D strings and harmonics on the G B E at 12th fret
4th fret with attached D pattern (no high E)
=============================
same D patterns (no high E)
9&10 / 7&8 / 6&7
then up to
16&17 / 14&15 / 13&14
=============================
then move this chord around here and there to match the madness
as for the outro
3 / 5 / 3 / 2 on the G string

i kinda accidentally found this out. it was literally a matter of luck.
the fact that i had the guitar tuned to 440 with a drop D
played it i dont know how many times last night
and 3 times this morning
i know it's not the greatest, but it seems to be the easiest
(as in you dont have to totally fuck with the tuning)
