Partof the reason why he went to America was because he exhausted his possibilities in England. Everyone knew who he was in England and Australia - it's hard to take the piss from people who know you're taking the piss. But I have no doubt certain people in the states knew who he was.

This is not intended to be rude, but it will sound it: You know that Borat is Ali G, don't you? It just sounded like you were seperating the two with your "i don't think he's a bad comedian" comment.
