DIDN'T just take inspiration from opera, she was classically trained as a pianist and a singer, the operatic style being one of them. To relegate all her records to a corner cluttered by the work of an opera singer obsessed with semi-satanic, end of the world themes seems to me that you haven't really listened to many of them to start with. The fact that you don't like what she does is fine and dandy, at least try to get a modicum of knowledge on the subject you're passing opinions on.
