Here's the deal from the horses (Jims) mouth on this release. It is a version of a Toru Takemitsu piano piece:

the cd is 2 performances of the same score realization that i did a few
months ago at the request of my old friend in tokyo who know works at
columbia. i used to do the piece a lot during college days, etc. so it
was very interesting to revisit the score after al these years. since
the roger woodward version was such a heavy thing for me, i decided to
use the same keyboard instruments he did, but other than that of course
everything is the score/realization's course. the name "translate
takemitu" was columbia's working title on their schedule, the name ,
even the exact layout of the text (!) was (had) to be decided by the
music publishers. i was bummed that the record is attributed to me, as
i think it shows disrespect to takemitsu (it's his piece for
chrissakes) but that's the way takemitsu's japanese publishers do it. i
think it's wierd, but what you gonna do?
in this case i just had no say.the name of the piece is actually
"corona, for pianist" which in itself is a fascinating name, largely
because of the ambiguities it opens by putting the emphasis on the
performer instead of the instrument. so the cd was called "corona, for
pianist-tokyo realization" (since every performance is a realization of
the graphis score and it's rules.) the cover art was done by fumio
nanbatta, who was an incredible artist who sadly died young 30 years
ago, but completely in resonance with takemitsu at that time.
so...there ya go.

Via Carlos Giffoni on another board I think.
