I totally agree. It's a difficult line, though. I think it's possible to treat superheroes with a sense of humour without the whole turning into flat-out comedy (although I though it worked with Iron Man). But I equally don't like it when the whole thing gets a bit too serious, either (Watchmen). Part of why I think Keaton was such a good Batman was cos I think he got that balance just right.
