Horse Woman (Part Two):
Providing she finds the right trainer to emulate, the Horse female could be a professional athlete, musician or dancer. She is combative and persuasive as well as socially correct and could do well in politics. As she is an effective reformer and rabble-rouser, any career choice involving teaching, social work, the law, medicine, journalism or psychology will involve struggling against worn-out, established traditions in favour of practical, up-to-date methods. As she likes meeting the public, she might choose to be a travelling saleswoman or product demonstrator, or, in keeping with her craving for excitement, she might be a success as a spy or a private detective, a thriller writer or an international commodities broker.

The Horse woman despises convention and cannot abide snobbery. She chooses her friends from every walk of life and takes pride in her ability to alter her thinking, shift her ideas or make sweeping life changes at a moment's notice. Always confident that things will work out for her, she's a true survivor, who instinctively knows how to bend society's rules and get away with it - without losing her solid social reputation.

A few unappealing character traits may cloud this dashingly interesting wona's personality portrait. She is excessively emotional and controlling her impetuous outbursts is almost a full-time job for her. Also, she is an exacerbated egotist. She is completely insensitive and indifferent to the world's ills. No matter now apparently involved she seems in family or friends, love or money, the Horse woman lives solely for herself and is interested only in serving her own interests. Even the most persuasive and reasonable pleas for humanitarian causes go right over her head. Yet she is usually immensely kind to her friends and immediate family, going out of her way to be hospitable and caring because she feels that she has either chosen, given birth to or inherited these folk and therefore enjoys helping them as an extension of herself.

But outsiders beware: the Horse woman can be ruthless and is entirely self-serving when her own interests (or ego) are at stake. She is a harsh judge of those whom she deems weak or too sensitive to criticism and will often taunt them with hurtful remarks and provocative behaviour. Like her male counterparts, she thinks she is always right and speaks presumptouously on subjects about which she knows nothing. She can be argumentative and outspoken but if suddenly proved wrong or finding herself cornered by a better debater, the Horse woman will cease communication in a flash and disappear into an impressive silent snit that could shroud Russia in darkness for several months.

It is at this point that her emotional vunerability shows most vividly. the Horse woman can 'dish it out but she cannot take it'. The smallest slight may cause her to retreat into one of her tomb states. An unintentionally wounding remark can put the Horse woman off her feed for days. When rejected or humiliated, she pouts and sulks. Joshing and jollying usually don't help - better leave her alone to ease out her black periods. She lacks the ability to laugh at herself, a sense of cynicism or fun, a security valve that lets off steam slowly, allowing her to play it cool when she is attacked or overpowered. But the Horse woman stubbornly perceives herself as alone, aloof and unafraid. Ordinarily, she relates to society and loved ones through solid, pragmatic acts. She believes in honesty and forthrightness and is undone by the irrational or supernatural. When she's befuddled by an intangible, she will scrub the floor or wash all the windows in her house. She is a doer, a thinker, but not an effective layabout who sorts out problems through rumination. Meditation might do her good but she would never go near it for feat of the idleness it involves.

At work, the Horse woman can be both vengeful and vindictive. She is often a die-hard feminist who means to turn the world around and see it run the proper way - her way! The man's world is an abomination. She would like nothing more than to show them all how to do it better, more efficiently and without violence. But because she is profoundly vunerable and emotionally unstable, Ms Horse sometimes lacks persistence in her vendettas. She knows that she needs to focus on her prey, yet she is hounded by a million angry-hunting-dog distractions nipping at her heels and throwing her off her target. Her energies are diluted, time runs out and she sometimes misses her goal, suffering enormously for the failure she perceives as her own damn fault. She may become depressed or despondent. Her biggest enemy is self-doubt, which throws her off course whenever she confronts it.

Sher never blames others for her mistakes but she is neither circumspect nor perceptive enough to work around self-doubt by cajoling herself, taking a do-nothing holiday and being gentle with her fragile nervous system. Her fear of inactivity coupled with the lack of self-confidence will usually send her into spasms of anxiety followed by surges of empty motion which only serve to tire and lead her even closer to the abyss of total nervous collapse.

How can the Horse woman improve her life? Professionally, she is not unlike the Tiger woman and should learn early on to curb her impulsiveness and temper her passion for independence.

Whatever she does, whether she stays at home raising dogs and kids and making a comfortable nest for the family, or becomes a world-beating women's rights attorney the Horse woman will do it well. From birth she is bound for an exciting - and unusual - lifestyle that she will create for herself and her loved ones in her own far from uncomplicated fashion.
