I saw him a couple years ago. While his gimmick isn't really my thing, I must admit, live, he does exhibit powerful presence. He opened for Cold Cave who totally sucked.
Someone set off smoke bombs (someone in attendance who "heard" before the show that this Boyd Rice cat a racist)....It did nothing more than make the show more interesting however. A few people were freaking out a bit thinking there might be a fire or some shit.
It was fun. I'd see 'em again. I wouldn't buy his records because sitting around listening to that shit feels cartoony.
