I think Village Green is like the blue print for many of the "kooky" indie-rock artists of the last two decades. Spoon, for instance. I can imagine Spoon putting out... well... just about ANY Kinks song and seeing it become a college-radio "hit".
Many bands have stolen from the Kinks, few have acknowledged them.
