not always true. the people that sued me weren't exactly middle class (or even US citizens for that matter). in fact, they made most of their money by sueing people.
the company that I worked for at the time, paid them $30k just to go away, since they were also named.
when it came to the date of the actual hearing, nobody showed up.
there's big money in suing corporations and hoping for cash.
