Yeah, but it was hilarious. It was one of the worst films ever, but also one of the most entertaining. I'd take it over, I dunno, THE RING, or some other awful garbage. I was seriously laughing harder during Nightmare on Elm Street than any film I can recall since Freddy Got Fingered. And to be honest, all those movies are pretty damn comedic, aside from 1 and New Nightmare. It's all about Freddy's one liners and soul pizza. I find it harder to believe anyone would take any of the sequels seriously. I love this whole remake thing. Let's remake more movies! Let's remake SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION next! You know? Let's not stop there! Let's remake books, too! I mean, the whole thing is so absurd to me that I can't help but be amused.
