It just doesn't work like that. True inward religion is an experiential matter, and could never be just a matter of intellectual concepts and constructs. Such religion is emptier than the US Congress. Religion is not an opiate like Marx suggested, no our NFL is such a dulling yet enticing distraction from from really diving into reality. Religion is meant to ask deep questions, which have no answers and yet the questioning process alone moves humans towards consciousness. Mysticism must be experienced, it is not simply a concept. Mysticism moves the human person towards the transcendental. By the way, science can be mystical. Its more profound reflections can move humans in higher, transcendental directions. Religion and mysticism is supposed to be the same kind of experience. For folks who are not moved by their religion, they need to further challenge themselves, just like if folks are not moved by science they really didn't get it.
