It was the NME that introduced me to the alternative music scene. I didn't even know an Indie chart existed until I started reading it. I was like "what the hell is this?" It piqued my interest on who the bands were and what they sounded like. If it wasn't for the NME, I wouldn't have known about
Sonic Youth, for example.
