well the book itself is somewhat political in that it was written by a person with political positions and she lets them be known

- her condemnation of ronnie bozo raygun's destruction of mental health care in california is political

- her complaint that thruston didn't share equally in the parental duties is political

- her criticism of wall street's takeover of all of new york is political

- etc.

some of these positions will irk some people to various degrees, and it's fine to disagree with said positions, but to demand that a person who writes a book shuts the fuck up about what she thinks/feels is what is positively wrong here.

btw i'm not saying you're one of those people demanding she shuts up about things-- i'm not keeping track of who said what. but the undercurrents are all over this thread as you can see.
