There was an interesting article in the Dutch newspaper Volkskrant this morning. There's this artist named Dotan. Anyone know him? Me neither but anyway, he is famous, selling out large venues in Netherlands and maybe abroad as well? One of his songs was used in the TV series The 100: Home
The newspaper did a very thorough investigation on him, took them 8 months. Conclusion is that he used an army of fake accounts on social media (and Wikipedia etc too) to boost his career. Or better worded: persons in his surroundings ran the fake accounts, including his manager.
They would post fake news and then boost about it with all the fake accounts on FB. One of those news items was that after a concert he met a big fan that was terminally ill of leukemia. Now it turns out that that ill person doesn't exist at all!!!! And of course when asked about it the guy doesn't know how that story ever ended up on his facebook timeline. Yeah right.

Sorry language is in Dutch of course. I tried to run it through Google Translate, but I can't get passed the cookie consent popup. But perhaps it may work for you. Link: https://translate.google.com/transla...%2F&edit-text=

Otherwise you could copy paste the full text and translate it yourself.
