But yo!! Why hasn't there been any mention of Young Fathers in this thread?

I know it is/was a bit trendy, and I also know that it's not your average meat and potatoes hip-hop (kinda like Shabazz Palaces, only Young Fathers' "@2ends with every month that passes this album extends its dusty roots further into my brain stem.

It's as hip-hop as Kanye's "Amazing", and seems to borrow just as much from slave work songs and bellowed African dirges. I guess I'm just wondering how it is that so deep into the year, this record has still failed to make an impression on the café.
