A memorial service to celebrate the life and times of Bum Phillips is Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church, 3700 Southwest Freeway.
The service begins at 7:30 p.m. and will feature former Oilers and coaches from the Luv Ya Blue era telling stories about Phillips, who died Friday night at his ranch in Goliad.
Phillips is being buried in a private ceremony on his ranch.
Rather than flowers, the family asks for donations to
Bum Phillips Charities to help build a home for deaf children on the Phillips’ ranch.
