I went to see Two Dollar Guitar (Steve Shelley, Tim Foljahn, etc) at Eyedrum in Atlanta in early 2000. Steve was manning the merch table before the show, selling CDs, shirts, etc. I asked him how SY's new album was coming [NYCG&F]. He said, "It's done. We just finished mixing it." I asked him what to expect, to which he replied, "Well...[long pause]...[nervous chuckle]...it's different...[outburst of laughter]." A harbinger of what was to come, for sure...
