The Bond franchise was given new life with Casino Royale, where for the first time, in my opinion, the moviemakers got it right.

I've enjoyed--not loved--Bond movies ever since seeing Thunderball as a 12-year-old kid, but even then I thought they were a bit hokey. They've only been a little bit of escapist fun. But the new Craig Bond is absolutely superb and something to look forward to. I had been looking forward to Quantum ever since seeing Casino, and I've watched Casino probably more times than I've watched any other movie. I'm truly captivated by it--it is, in my mind, the best true spy movie made, aside from perhaps The Spy Who Came in from the Cold.

Also, don't be such a snob. There are all kinds of movies for all kinds of reasons.
