I did 27 I only realised when I got to it andn then I didnt want to take any out.. it actually took a long time. everything I've listed is an album I can't imagine not existing, for either just my own super passionate love of it, or because of its general influence on a lot of later bands I love. there is only 1 non mainstream album in my list, so i dont have nerd points. but there you go.

jeff buckley - grace
janes addiction - ritual de lo habitual
red hot chilli peppers - blood sugar sex magik
pj harvey - dry/rid of me(I cant choose)
nick cave - let love in
yo la tango - painful
pixies - trompe le monde
portishead - dummy
fiona apple - tidal
mudhoney - my brother the cow
hole - live through this
nirvana - nevermind
sonic youth - dirty
dinosaur jr - green mind
porno for pyros - good gods urge
the lemonheads - its a shame about ray
placebo - without you im nothing
bjork - debut
lamb - fear of fours
lino - lino (not the hip hop dood)
massive attack - mezzanine
pavement - slanted and enchanted
john frusciante - niandra lades and usually just a t-shirt
mercury rev - yerself is steam
radiohead - ok computer
tori amos - from the chiorgirl hotel
manic street preachers - holy bible
