They are an over-played band, sure, especially with the heavy rotation they get at any christmas party all over the UK, the radio, the swanky documantaries about them on channel 4 etc. All things that might distract the pop culture junky hungry to form an opinion on just about any aspect of his/her life from what remain good, easy-going pop songs.

well by clever i mean whichever one of them wrote the songs has a clear talent for contructing pop songs
