Cover of "Omega"
Twelve years after its release (1996), Enrique Morente reedits and re-masters “Omega” with a digital booklet and a bonus track, one of his most groundbreaking and risky albums. But Morente is always one step ahead and he has chosen to release it in digital format as an Internet download. The albums release will finish with a four-concert tour with Lagartija Nick. And as the vocalist said, "you’ve got to step back to be able to look forward".

"Omega" is already part of flamenco history, its release in 1996 made more than one critic pull their hair out. However, as time has gone by this album has become a reference point for flamenco fusion.

Based on texts by Federico García Lorca and Leonard Cohen songs, the vocalist Enrique Morente and the band from Granada Lagartija Nick, with the collaboration of Estrella Morente, Vicente Amigo, Cañizares and Tomatito, signing off on one of the key albums of our times mixing rock and flamenco in a totally groundbreaking way for the times.

To celebrate the 12th anniversary of this legendary album, Morente has decided to re-edit and re-master it and include a bouns track: "Oriente y Occidente", recorded with the New York group Sonic Youth on 28 Octuber 2005 at the first Heineken Greenspace festival in Valencia.

For the moment and while we wait for the release of "Omega", all the new material is available on digital format at www.morenteomega.com, costing €8.99.

This digital re-edition will be accompanied by four big concerts, in which Morente and Lagartija Nick will explore the dark and personal character of the lyrics of Lorca and Cohen, through psychodelic rock and bulerías, tangos and alegrías.
