I have to say Windows Linux and Mac are equally ok to do the most commond things with a computer.

In particular, in my opinion, Windows is the right choice for gaming and compatibility, Linux for services and recentrly it's very well done like a home desktop. Mac it's ok for recording, graphic and photography but more expencive respect a PC cause the better hardware.
