sorry to disappoint you children but getting high rep these days is a lot easier than when the board started. because the amount of rep you can give is related to how much you have, any snot can come in today, get rep from a couple of high-ranking people and get a level of rep that would take months for people to reach when the board started. those little green squares accumulated very fucking slowly.

so today basically whoever spends more time here gets the most rep-- it's just a function of the math involved in it.

there's also the ball-cupping effect-- many people feel compelled to give you rep when you rep them, so if you want high rep all you need to do is dish it out like mad and people will soon rep you back and bam, you're suddenly a rep monster.

anyway, when i was your age i had to walk 10 miles to school in the snow without shoes ha ha ha.

NR has a point, yes, but cmon, the assfinger thread was epic and legendary.
