Yeah, I'm old enough to have "Nirvana stories." One of my faves: I was seeing these Melvins posters around town, when I lived in Salt Lake City around 1989, advertising a show at a club in town. I knew who the Melvins were, had one of their albums. In smaller type below the Melvins ad was something about the opening act: Nirvana. I went into the record store and asked who Nirvana was. He said, "Aw, one of those grunge bands from Seattle on SubPop. The kids are all going to see the Melvins, though."
