I'm not against remakes in total. I loved Carpenters remake of The Thing and thought the Dawn of the Dead one had some good points too. What I object to is the way it has somehow become Hollywood policy simply to exploit fans of cult favourites, knowing they'll watch these remakes even if they're sceptical about the results. Fans of the originals should simply boycott them.
