Think about back in the day. They used to only have a few basic kinds of sneakers, and they were all either black or white. What, I ask you, is wrong with that? Why can't we go back to the basics and be simple?
I hesitate to think that black Jack Purcells on Dean in the picture would look better. In fact, THAT would be ugly. White here is the right choice.
