out cats live forever. however, about a year and a half ago we had to put one to sleep (see was 22 (or so?)). that would have been a good time, however he NEVER saw the cat and didn't even notice that she was gone for 6 months!
I think the timing of gg's uncle's demise worked out well for us however (yeah...that sounds morbid, even coming from me...but yeah).
