Do you have pets girlgun? They are a good way of explaining the life cycle to a child. And even if you haven't, use animals as an example.

They're good because they don't live too long (you know what I mean) and because all of the feelings they will experience when a pet dies are the same they will experience when a loved one dies. And here's hoping you die before they do (you know what I mean).

My daughter is 4 1/2 and has already asked about death. Luckily at that age they take things in their stride. But it's still heartbreaking when you try to explain death to a child and they say "I don't want to die". It'sthen that you're tempted to start lying about there being a heaven!
