In the late 80's, I remember that the Strafe Fur Rebellion CD's were prone to disc-rot. Matter of fact, Vinyl Edge records (Houston) only sold "opened" Strafe Fur Rebellion CD's. Something about the paper the artwork was printed on. As long as you kept the artwork away from the CD, it was fine. I purchased 'Vogel' the week it was released back in 89 and haven't had any problems with it. The artwork has sort of faded and changed, but it's been stored away from any CD's.
