- vintage.
- ebay! ebay has lots of great stuff for often less than retail price and lots of great vintage as well.
- knowing people in the fashion industry is helpful if you can make the rounds. i get a lot of free clothes just because i know people or because i help out and stuff.
- find your own personal style. i wouldn't look right in something that my best friend looks great in just because it's not me etc etc.
- just knowing how to put an outfit together in a creative way can make you stand out and look fabulous even if you paid $10 in total. like i have this men's flannel shirt that i love from like wal mart or something that might have been $4 but when i put it with a great pair of jeans/shoes it's awesome.
