i threw up on dex at school once. but after throwing up i felt soooo good, and plus i forgot about it right away, so barfing aint that big a deal. drinking the shit is kinda dumb, i just get the pills, as long as you know what to look for it is relatively safe.
one of the cooler things about dxm is if you smoke pot a few days after your trip the you will feel some of the dissociative effects because it activates the dxm that is still in your body and its like tripping all over again while you are stoned.
oh and DXM is in fact a hallucinogen, because dissociatives ARE hallucinogenic.
