It's like how it's so annoying when people give you so much attention on your birthday. I hate that feeling.
I say get her something like a gift certificate to a record shop or art store, plain and simple. Or you could go further and get her a good book like laile said. If her birthday's next month sometime, you can wait and get her an audrey kawasaki print on wood for her wall (they're only about $30.00 when they're freshly released).
