True story. He wanted to know if a woman he'd arrested had offered to sell it to me earlier. Funnily enough, I
did recognise the skirt, as she had shown it to me earlier and commented how pleased she was with it. Perhaps she'd shoplifted it from somewhere.
Even though I'm not the sort of person who has OK relations with the police in general, it's still scary when one of their number leaps out of a van and charges towards me.
