I used to have many cats when I was living with my parents. And it was often frustrating, 'cause those cats didn't have a long life expectancy. My parents house is in the middle of countryside, but I think "urban cats" have to live locked up in a small room, it's not better.
But I don't want to discourage you to have a cat !
