I dont think its a "misperception" that guns are easier at all, i think the example i gave illustrates this; Its a proximity thing. Its easier for people to shoot someone dead than beat them to death with a bat or stab them to death. And during a domestic dispute, as early reports allege this shooting sprang from, having a gun on hand increases the likelihood of someone getting seriously injured or killed. It seems in this case, the male student killed a female friend and then resigned himself to die after that, insanely motivated to take others with him.

Many here should be familiar with the statistics that if you own a handgun that you are likely to shoot someone you know in a dispute or have your own self killed by it.
