Cool man, our album is only going to be one long song, here's a twenty.
We'll show up at midnight tonight and be out of here within twenty-four hours.
How are you going to know how many songs they are recording? Do you have, like, a producer's booth in your basement or were you just planning to monitor them constantly...how exactly?
This is why your "base fee" is a good idea. I would also just charge by the hour, not the song.
