j's distortion/fuzz pedals are:
vintage muff
vintage muff
superfuzz
germania treble boost
bluebox

j's sound is basically a muff with softer settings and another muff with all knobs of full, then he uses a univox superfuzz or the germania to boost solos and such.

I think i've finally figured out the mystery to j's fuzz. You first need an american big muff with the sustain and volume at 10 and the tone at about 1 o'clock and a superfuzz coming after it set on the treblier fuzz and have that cranked to 10. to get the wah sound he has i use a vox wah and put it after the muff and the fuzz and run a russian big muff that has everything on 10. Also the key is to use a decent tube amp with the reverb cranked to 10 and you should have "j's tone"
