PAINTBALL 2001
OPENING EVENT OF ARS ELECTRONICA 2001
The large white billboard measuring about 100 square meters is going to be mounted on the facade of the university of art located on linz mainsquare. Whenever you call the number announced in the bilboard a paintball will be shot from a scaffold set up a short distance away. The ball splatters against the surface of the bilboard, leaving a brightly coloured splotch. The caller hears a recordeded message:
"if you still don't think this is art, call again". Every caller (no matter where they are calling from) triggers a paintball so that over the course of seven days this will produce an image that is constantely changing and becoming increasingly colourful. [see the video] The "Interactive Bilboard" has been patented by our company RAUMSCHIFF INTERACTIVE GMBH throughout Europe.
