Larsen - Seies

Following on from Larsen's very well received ‘Play’ album we were treated to the gorgeous ‘HMKE’ ep, which featured none other than Deathprod on mixing duties, setting the stage perfectly for this brand new album - 'Seies'. This is rather more song based than its predecessor, opening with the dark and doomy Blade-Runnerisms of ‘The Snow’ , punctuating the death knoll of his dark ambient leanings with gorgeous instrumentation; acoustic guitars, violins and detailed percussive elements. The second track ‘Mother’ takes the song structure even further, injecting the sound with an almost shoegaze-like quality, coming across like a more orchestral My Bloody Valentine or Slowdive. However, the songs never descend into anything less than credible, Larsen’s delicate and measured production making sure everything fits together with charm. A gorgeous work from a producer who is sure to start getting the attention of a wider audience, ‘SeieS’ is a slice of experimental pop at it’s best.

Or something by Angels of Light.
