TroutFishingUSA has a couple of kiss-ass net friends
I had my tonsils taken out a few years ago (I was 22) and met with complications that led to a blood transfusion and a hospital stay. The good side? My doctor gave me a prescription for liquid codeine with unlimited refills. He also gave me these instructions: "The only way you won't be in pain is to stay ahead of it by taking as much of this stuff as you can. Don't worry, you can't get addicted to it in the time it'll take your tonsils to heal" (2 months!). My roommates kept finding me asleep, sitting up, with my eyes open in front of my old SNES. I remember very little about those months.

Your dentist really gave you acetaminophen for yr widom teeth? That seems WAY too weak. I get stronger stuff than that for a root canal. You're probably just remembering it wrong. Wait, you might be young enough that they didn't have to do surgery to remove them? If they remove them when they're still "buds" I heard it's a pretty simple procedure.
