I'm fairly certain that in twenty years of training that Reed has learned to execute judo holds from Master Ren, therefore, Hopper (or just about anyone else really) wouldn't have any chance before Lou diffused the conflict and rendered them helpless with a wrist-lock as he took them down to the ground, if necessary.
A person with twenty years martial arts experience and study can even take down a police officer that utilizes judo and grappling...even if the trained officer is twice their size.
