Forced equality isn't the same as equal opportunity. Everyone has the same opportunity to volunteer or not.
But yeah, isn't that kind of the idea behind this whole draft thing being brought up - that it will make politicians think twice about getting into wars?
Somehow I doubt that it will work out like that. All it really means is that those politicians will be guaranteed to have the numbers they need to go to war with whomever they wish.
Maybe they should raise the pay of soldiers instead.
